Windows XP SP3, la data ufficiale è il 29 aprile

L’attesa è stata lunga, snervante ed ora si può finalmente azionare il countdown per l’uscita di Windows XP SP3. Stando a quanto hanno pubblicato su Neowin, Windows XP SP3 sarà rilasciato a più riprese, rispettivamente il 21 e 29 aprile mentre il 10 giugno giungerà via Windows Update.

• April 29, 2008: Microsoft Update, Windows Update, Download Center
• June 10, 2008: Automatic Updates

Come si può vedere, la giornata più interessante sarà il 29 Aprile, giorno in cui qualsiasi utente potrà procedere al download ed installazione del nuovo Service Pack 3 per Windows XP, al suo interno sono racchiuse oltre 1000 hot fix e patch rilasciate durante gli ultimi 3 anni ma poche (se non nessuna) per aumentare le sue performance.

Il service pack 3 di Windows XP non segna ancora l’inizio della fine di questo sistema operativo, le vendite di Windows XP Home sono state prorogate fino al 2010 ma questa disponibilità rimane esclusivamente per i PC Low Cost, tutta quella serie di PC di performance ridotte come ad esempio l’Asus EEE, per gli altri, la data finale rimane il 30 Giugno 2008 (non è detto che Microsoft ritorni nuovamente sulle proprie affermazioni).

Come al solito ci si può aspettare i primi rilasci “non ufficiali” di Windows XP SP3 già a partire dal 21 Aprile, data in cui potrebbero apparire su diversi Torrent Search Engine. Qualora ciò si concretizzi, si raccomanda di non procedere al download del SP3 via Torrent e d’aspettare invece le date di rilascio ufficiali.
