Una strada da percorrere è tentare di avviare Windows XP tramite una penna usb, ecco come: One way forward is groped to start Windows XP by using a pen usb, here's how:
Colleghiamoci su Colleghiamoci on www.bootdisk.com e scarichiamo and get
a)il file immagine di Dos 6.22 (622-514.exe) a) the image file of Dos 6.22 (622-514.exe)
b)xp quick boot diskette (xpquick.zip) b) xp quick boot diskette (xpquick.zip)
Recuperiamo l’ultima versione di WinImage dall’indirizzo Recuperiamo the latest from WinImage www.winimage.com , installiamolo, avviamolo ed apriamo il file che abbiamo scaricato precedentemente da www.bootdisk.com (622-514.exe) , Installiamolo, avviamolo and open the file that we previously downloaded from www.bootdisk.com (622-514.exe)
Salviamo il file exe come file immagine (*.ima). Saving the file exe as image files (*. ima).
Il procedimento non è finito: posizioniamoci sopra il file *.ima con il mouse e selezioniamo Extract, scegliendo come destinazione una directory a piacere sul nostro Desktop. Se tutto è andato per il verso giusto, occorre solamente accedere al bios del pc interessato e settare l’avvio da periferica usb (naturalmente il pc deve supportare il boot da usb). Il mio portatile non ha il boot da USB…e neanche sapevo che c’era questa possibilità. My laptop did not boot from USB… and even knew that there was this possibility.
Il BIOS del portatile dice che posso fare il boot da CD/DVD, da C, dal floppy A e dalla rete LAN, però non parla di USB! The BIOS portable says I can boot from a CD / DVD, C, A and floppy from LAN, but does not speak USB! Uffa!

Ho seguito il tutto passo passo, la guida è buona, va tutto come indicato però…non riesco a fare il boot! Se hai il lettore CD Rotto e il tuo PC non consente il boot da USB potresti cercare di fare il boot da Floppy usando una delle immagini che trovi su If you have your CD Broken and your PC does not allow booting from USB you might try to boot from a floppy using images that are in Bootdisk Bootdisk , nulla vieta dopo l’inclusione di qualche drivers che abiliti la tua penna usb da dos. Nothing prohibits after the inclusion of some drivers that enable your usb pen from dos. Prova una Google Search con oggetto Try a Google Search with the subject usb under dos Under USB Dos

Grazie, questo articolo mi è stato molto utile, tuttavia gli manca qualcosa: facendo solo come hai detto, il notebook partiva da dos, e non gli servivano a niente ntldr, ntdetect.com e boot.ini per far partire XP. La cosa funge, cioè XP fa il boot dalla chiavetta, se da WinImage si entra nel menu’ Image>Boot sector properties e si sceglie come tipo di boot quello relativo a Win XP. What acts, namely booting XP ago by stick, if WinImage you enter the menu 'Image> Boot sector properties and you choose a type of boot that on Win XP.

Scusate, una domanda, ma la chiavetta (una volta formattata in questo modo e copiati i files x l’avvio) rimane pur sempre funzionante per il suo uso “tradizionale”,giusto? Come molti utenti qui riscontro due step di difficoltà Like many people here reflected two step difficulty
1) Riguarda la bootabilità della pendrive. 1) Covers the bootabilità of pendrive. Grazie ad un gentile conoscente ho scoperto che non tutte le versioni dell’utility dell’HP funzionano: ero convinto anch’io che fossero tutte uguali. hai provato con un live cd di linux? you tried with a live cd linux? tu avvii da cd, scarichi i file e poi fai il boot da usb!! you start from CDs, download files and then you booting usb! però se non sei pratico di linux non te lo consiglio: infatti devi impostare i dischi da sola lettura a lettura/scrittura, e va fatto da shell!! But if you're not familiar linux you not recommend it because you must set the read-only discs from a reading / writing, and should be done by shell!
