Psi, nuovo sw di Instant Messaging multipiattaforma

psiPsi è un nuovo software di Instant Messaging multipiattaforma compatibile con Microsoft Windows, Apple Mac OS X e GNU/Linux che sfrutta il protocollo Jabber. Questo software open source costruito partendo dalla libreria QT è veloce e leggero e consente d’interagire con tutti i principali sistemi di messaggistica esistenti come AOL, ICQ e Windows Live Messenger. Tramite Psi disporremo anche di un client IRC senza utilizzare altro software.

Tramite Psi la comodità è di casa, per cominciare ad utilizzarlo dobbiamo munirci di un account Jabber, effettuare qualche configurazione dopodichè abbiamo a portata di mano un buon software che con buona pace di chi usa più sistemi operativi sarà identico su Linux, Windows o Mac.

Novità - Caratteristiche:

  • user chat windows now join one on one chat windows and can be opened in tabbed form, either sharing a window, or seperately.
  • The roster search has been updated, and now triggers a filter when typing into the roster window.
  • An XML ringbuffer is now used, allowing access to already received XML in the XML console.
  • When resolving a name for new contacts, the full name is now used if the nick name is missing from the vcard.
  • Auto-connect on wake is now an independent option.
  • MUCs can now be bookmarked, and auto-joined.
  • The old config.xml file has been dropped in favour of the new options.xml format - all options in Psi can now be configured from the Advanced options pane (no more hand-editing of config files is required).
  • Vcard avatars are now transmitted for the benefit of legacy clients and servers not supporting PEP.
  • A new diagnostics group is available in the help menu, to allow debugging problems with the QCA security layer.
  • Launching several instances of the same profile on Windows and Unices with DBUS now behaves more sensibly.
  • On X11, the taskbar should now flash on new messages for compliant window managers.

Note: Psi è un IM in sviluppo non giunto ancora alla Stable Release compatibile anche con Windows Vista. Chi avesse bisogno di una mano in fase di configurazione o utilizzo può collegarsi sul forum ufficiale di Psi.

    Visto che il mio proecedente commento è stato penso per sbaglio cancellato lo ripubblico visto che mi sembra giusto esprimere la mia opinione e se siete una testata seria dovreste pubblicarlo. Questo software non è nuovo, risale al 2001: basta andare nella pagina “About” del progetto per scoprirlo.

    Ciao Garret, i veri Boss di Italia SW sono i lettori che determinano il successo o insuccesso del sito. Questa premessa è per dire che il tuo precedente commento è stato perso nello Spam è non è stato in nessun modo cestinato a priori.
    E’ vero, il software non è nuovo. L’affermazione “nuovo”(in se stessa errata) è stata data solo per giustificare il primo inserimento di Psi all’interno del sito.
    Grazie per aver posto questa precisazione.
