Microsoft ha deciso d’anticipare i tempi di rilascio per la patch ufficiale alla vulnerabilità 981374 di Internet Explorer. La vulnerabilità 981374 è stata annunciata il 10 Marzo, Microsoft si era messa immediatamente in moto, rilasciando una patch via Fix It.

Fix It offre dei workaround, non una reale soluzione al problema che si presenta quest’oggi come grave. La vulnerabilità 981374 riguarda Internet Explorer 7 e Internet Explorer 6. La decisione d’anticipare i soliti cicli di rilascio patch è dovuto alla particolare gravità della falla di Internet Explorer, un attacker potrebbe ottenere gli stessi privilegi utente di chi esegue Internet Explorer e si sa, gli utenti (non tutti) utilizzano Windows come Admin ..

Il primo consiglio per qualsiasi utente di Internet Explorer è effettuare l’upgrade a Internet Explorer 8, oltre a disporre di un Browser maggiormente sicuro che offre anche la modalità inprivate, si potranno apprezzare novità come una migliore aderenza ai Web Standard (non perfetta aderenza).

Chi non vuole passare ancor oggi a Internet Explorer 8 poichè usa Internet Explorer 6 per fini aziendali, sappia che è disponibile una patch, dovrebbe essere disponibile per il donwload quest’oggi.

This is an advance notification of an out-of-band security bulletin that Microsoft is intending to release on March 30, 2010. The bulletin is being released to address attacks against customers of Internet Explorer 6 and Internet Explorer 7. Users of Internet Explorer 8 and Windows 7 are not vulnerable to these attacks. The vulnerability used in these attacks, along with workarounds, is described in Microsoft Security Advisory 981374. The out-of-band security bulletin is a cumulative security update for Internet Explorer and will also contain fixes for privately reported vulnerabilities rated Critical on all versions of Internet Explorer that are not related to this attack.
