Foxit Reader, il PDF Reader usato da molti come sostituto a Adobe Reader e gli oltre 200 MB di dati che inserisce nel nostro Hard Disk arriva alla release 3. Sebbene l’ultima release di Foxit Reader integri un piccolo banner in alto a destra e sia per ora impossibile eliminarlo (non ci sono ancora tweak ufficiali), possiamo provare ad utilizzare il “vecchio tweak” che serviva per la rimozione degli ADS da Foxit, si tratta d’avviare e chiudere il sw più volte (da 5 a 10 volte) accertandoci ogni volta d’andare in view e togliendo il segno di spunta a “Advertisement”. Foxit Reader 3 si rivela ancora un ottimo sostituto al software di Adobe fornendoci qualche strumento aggiuntivo in più a costo zero. E’ ovvio che gli utenti interessati ad ulteriori features non presenti all’interno della versione Base di Foxit debbano passare ad un package Pro, tale necessità è accompagnata però da un test su strada (documenti marchiati con il logo di Foxit Reader n.d.r.) decidendo solo in seguito, qualora fossimo soddisfatti, all’acquisto di una licenza.
Ci sono diverse migliorie nel nuovo prodotto Foxit Reader 3 come il plugin per migliorare l’integrazione con Firefox 3 oppure la visualizzazione dei documenti pdf in formato *.txt (sprovvisti di formattazione) e, sebbene non ci sia consentito l’export dei pdf in txt neppure il copia incolla da Foxit a Notepad, tale limitazione è aggirabile scegliendo il testo da esportare e premendo la combinazione di tasti CTRL+C a cui seguirà CTRL+V all’interno di Notepad.

Within the preferences dialog box it gives users the option to set the unit of page dimension in either metric system or imperial system. - Auto-scrolling with Middle Mouse Button
In the Hand Tool reading mode, users can perform auto-scrolling by holding the middle mouse button/wheel mouse button down. - Awe-Inspiring Foxit OnDemand Content Management
This new add-on enables users to organize, share and collaborate on documents and forms online. Users can upload from Foxit Reader or send documents with ease. Advanced features include workflow driven document sharing, revisions of documents, CollabRoom for group collaboration. - Firefox Support
With Firefox Plugin, users can view and work with PDF files loaded in Foxit Reader with Firefox web browser.
