Microsoft ha rilasciato quest’oggi la tanto attesa Release Candidate di Windows 7 ma, come vi avevamo anticipato un paio di giorni fa, tale release è disponibile per ora ai soli iscritti MSDN e TechNet. L’attesa è quindi per il 5 Maggio quando Windows 7 RC sarà disponibile  a tutti su Microsoft Download Center.

Quali sono le caratteristiche attese per questa release ? I cambiamenti – innovazioni sono il remote media streaming, la modalità Windows XP (virtualizzazione) e una beta di Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor. Sono stati effettuati dei cambiamenti a diverse funzionalità preesistenti in base al feedback dei testers, miglioramenti alla Windows taskbar e maggiori – migliori funzionalità (user experience) sulla tanto “chiaccherata” touch screen..

Ecco cosa ha detto Bill Veghte, Vice presidente senior della sezione Windows business alla Microsoft:

“Listening to our partners and customers has been fundamental to the development of Windows 7,”  “We heard them and worked hard to deliver the highest quality Release Candidate in the history of Windows. We have more partner support than we’ve ever had for an RC and are pleased to say that the Windows 7 RC has hit the quality and compatibility bar for enterprises to start putting it through its paces and testing in earnest.”

Ecco invece un update sui requisiti minimi per far “girare” Windows 7, sono un processore con 1GHz 32-bit (x86) o 64-bit (x64) , 1 GB of RAM (32-bit)/2 GB of RAM (64-bit), 16 GB di hd (32-bit)/20 GB (64-bit), scheda video con DirectX 9 e Windows Display Driver Model 1.0. Trattandosi di requisiti minimi il consiglio è come al solito dotarsi di una macchina che abbia il doppio delle caratteristiche qui inserite..
