L’avevamo comunicato in anteprima, l’annuncio di Prevx era dubbio, con pochi fondamenti. Ora arrivano ulteriori conferme di ciò che avevamo presupposto. Si trattava, forse, di un operazione pubblicitaria.

Prevx, azienda che produce software ma anche un registry cleaner allertava un paio di giorni fa l’intero mondo Windows di un problema, che le patch rilasciate in data 15 Novembre erano “fallate” e potevano causare una schermata nera, rendendo impossibile l’utilizzo di Windows. L’annuncio di Prevx è stato ripreso da Stampa, anche quella non specializzata causando un allarme immotivato, unico requisito era analizzare il messaggio di Prevx per capire che potevano sorgere dei dubbi. Prevx affermava 15 giorni dopo il rilascio delle patch per Windows che queste causavano problemi e schermate nere ma, tali problemi non si sono manifestati affatto nei successivi 15 giorni dal rilascio delle patch Microsoft, non troviamo traccia in rete. Qualcuno affermava addirittura che tale problema non era il primo citando la Crypto Patch del 30 Ottobre, dimenticandosi però di spiegare che tale patch non era per correggere schermate nere..

Ulteriori conferme che la mossa di Prevx era (forse) un operazione pubblicitaria vengono fornite da TgDaily che ha effettuato delle ricerche in rete, trovando materiale a dir poco interessante.

La prima fonte citata è Ripoff Report dove troviamo un messaggio di un customer di Prevx che si lamenta della società, dicendo che il loro software non ha funzionato, dovendo ricorrere ad un software gratuito offerto da malwarebytes.org

Prevx edge software did not work. It took support 14 hours to reply to my problem. i had already found malwarebytes.org that provided free anti malware software and was able to remove the malware.So after successfully getting rid of the malware, I uninstalled Prevx Edge. It is not worth it to buy any Prevx software when you can use (((Redacted))). They are refusing to refund my $$ when their software did not work. I will continue to fight this and make sure that everyone is aware that Prevx is a ripoff.

La seconda fonte citata è Wilders Security Forums dove assistiamo ad un lunghissimo thread dedicato alla Prevx, datato 2008. Numerose sono le persone che hanno in comune una cosa, problemi con il prodotto di Prevx. Ecco uno dei tanti messaggi:
