Avviare Norton Ghost 2003 dalla Penna USB Start Norton Ghost 2003 by Pen USB
[Sono quasi due settimane che frequento un corso per Programmatore Junior (Java+SQL)a Padova e si prospetta un ulteriore allungamento della mia permanenza fino al 3 marzo per conseguire un corso per Operatore SAP (sempre a Padova). Ieri sera ho riformattato il portatile installando una versione di Win XP Home modificata e tagliuzzata tramite Nlite. Yesterday evening I reformatted the laptop installing a version of Win XP Home amended and tagliuzzata through Nlite. Installati Drivers, utilities ed il software di Base ho proceduto all’installazione di Norton Ghost in modo da effettuare un clone dell’HD su DVD (sistema operativo+software non deve superare la capacità dell’HD!). Installed Drivers, utilities and software Basics I proceeded to Norton Ghost in order to make a clone dell'HD on DVD (+ operating system software must not exceed the capacity dell'HD). E’ qui che sono cominciate le pene in quanto il mio portatile (oltre ad altre svariate centinaia di portatili) si ritrova senza il lettore floppy, quindi senza “apparente” possibilità di recuperare il clone dell’HD. Non è cosi’! Not so '! La mancanza di un lettore floppy è una carenza di poco conto poichè l’avvio di un PC o Portatile (Motherboard Permettendo) può essere effettuato da periferiche USB. Elenco di seguito i passi da seguire per chi voglia, ottenere una Penna USB bootable capace di avviare Norton Ghost (NDR diffidate di soluzioni come MKBR in quanto sono lunghe ed il più delle volte non portano ai risultati sperati…!). List below the steps to follow for those wishing to obtain a bootable USB Pen able to start Norton Ghost (NDR diffidate solutions as MKBR because they are long and more often than not lead to expected results…).
PREREQUISITI : PREREQUISITI:
- PC con lettore Floppy PC reader Floppy
- Norton Ghost 2003 Norton Ghost 2003
- Pendrive USB (meglio USB Flash Drive (better
- Motherboard capace di fare il Boot da periferiche USB Motherboard capable of doing the Boot from USB devices
PROCEDIMENTO : PROCEDURE:
(A)Installiamo Norton Ghost 2003 sul portatile di cui intendiamo fare il Ghost e selezioniamo: (A) install Norton Ghost 2003 on the handset of which intend to do the Ghost and select:
- - Backup Backup Your Computer to a Ghost image file -- Backup Backup Your Computer to a Ghost image file
- - Source C: Destination; Recordable CD or DVD -- Source C: Destination; recordable CD or DVD
clicchiamo quindi su avanti,inseriamo un DVD vergine nel masterizzatore e clicchiamo avanti..Giunti a questo punto il PC si riavvierà per procedere alla copia dell’HD sul DVD ritornando, una volta finito, al login di Windows XP. then click on forward, insert a DVD burner in virgin and click forward .. At this point the PC will restart in order to copy the DVD dell'HD returning, once finished, the login of Windows XP. Allontaniamoci ora dal notebook e avviciniamoci al nostro beneamato PC “Fisso”: creiamo un floppy di avvio Ghost (il procedimento è autoesplicativo … ) Allontaniamoci hours from the notebook and avviciniamoci to our beneamato PC "Fixed" means we create a boot floppy Ghost (the procedure is self…)
(B)Creiamo un Floppy di Avvio MS-DOS. (B) Building a Floppy Start MS-DOS. Per far ciò posizioniamoci in esplora Risorse (figura 1) e clicchiamo col tasto destro del mouse sopra l’icona Floppy da 3,5 pollici. To do so in posizioniamoci explores Resources (Figure 1) and click right mouse over the icon Floppy by 3.5 inches. Dal menu selezioniamo Formatta mentre al menu di Formatta scegliamo Crea Disco di Avvio MS-DOS (figura 2). From the menu select Format while the Format menu choose Create Startup Disk MS-DOS (Figure 2).
Al termine dell’operazione possiamo lasciare il floppy all’interno del PC in quanto ci serve al passo successivo. After that we can leave the floppy in the PC as we need the next step.
(C)Effettuiamo ora il Download dell’utility (C) We now downloads dell'utility HP Format Utility for HP Drive Key or DiskOnKey USB Device HP Format Utility for HP Drive Key or DiskOnKey USB Device ed installiamola.All’avvio dell’applicativo selezioniamo:- FileSystem: FAT32- Create a DOS Startup DISK and installiamola.All 'boot dell'applicativo select: - FileSystem: FAT32-Create a Startup DOS DISK

(D)Ora ci troviamo in Possesso di una Penna USB Avviabile ma, senza i files che ci interessano, è di nessuna utilità.Inseriamo il Floppy Realizzato tramite Ghost.Copiamo i seguenti files dal Floppy Disk alla Penna USB bootable: (D) Now we are in Possession of a Pen USB Bootable but without the files that concern us, is no utilità.Inseriamo the Floppy Done through Ghost.Copiamo the following files from the Floppy Disk Pen USB bootable:
(E)AUTOEXEC.BATCONFIG.SYSguest.exeMOUSE.COM+ l’intera directory GHOST e USB (A) + AUTOEXEC.BATCONFIG.SYSguest.exeMOUSE.COM the entire directory GHOST and USB
(NDR E’ presente la directory USB poichè ho realizzato un floppy di Ghost col supporto USB 2). (NDR E 'This directory USB because I made a floppy Ghost with USB 2).
(F)Spegniamo ora il PC e colleghiamo la nostra Penna USB, in cui è stato integrato Ghost 2003, al nostro portatile. Salve ho seguito tutt i passi, riesco a far partire il ghost dalla penna USB, ho solo un piccolo problema il file da ripristinare è di circa 1GB e come tempo stimato mi da circa 18 ore …sbaglio in qualcosa? Hello I followed across the steps I can to start the ghost from the pen USB, I only have a small problem to restore the file is about 1GB and estimated time as me about 18 hours… mistake into something?

Sicuramente stai sbagliando qualcosa. Surely something you're wrong. Ieri ho reinstallato il mio OS dalla copia di backup realizzata con Ghost nella maniera qui descritta. Yesterday I reinstall my OS from the backup made with Ghost in the manner described here. Lo spazio da ripristinare è circa 4 GB ed ha impiegato circa 20 minuti. The space is to restore about 4 GB and took about 20 minutes.
Dalle info che mi hai dato non ho capito se hai realizzato un ghost su DVD oppure HD. From the info you have given me I did not understand if you have achieved a ghost on DVD or HD. - controllare il tipo di backup realizzato con Ghost(Ghost comprime i dati in diverse modalità, puoi aver scelto quella massima e come tale il tempo di recupero è alto..) -- Monitor the type of backups made with Ghost (Ghost compresses the data in different ways, you might have chosen the maximum and as such the time of recovery is high ..)

Scusami una curiosita’ in merito al gost da usb, anche io come te non ho il floppy sul portatile, laa mia domanda e’ la seguente, dici di installare sul portatile il gost, ma una volta creato il disco d’immaggine il gost deve rimanere installato sul portatile o lo posso disinstallare? Una volta creato il Ghost (per intenderci, il backup della tua installazione) puoi tranquillamente disinstallare l’applicativo. Once created the Ghost (for instance, back up your installation) you can easily uninstall the application. Il suo unico scopo è generare il Ghost da cui partirai per ripristinare il PC. Its sole purpose is to generate the Ghost partirai from which to restore the PC.

Certo che è possibile. Certainly that is possible. L’importante è che il sistema operativo sia supportato dalla versione di Norton Ghost che intendi utilizzare. The important thing is that the operating system is supported by the version of Norton Ghost that plan to use. Che dopo il PC sia “marchiato” HP oppure Toshiba non fa alcuna differenza What after the PC is "branded" HP or Toshiba makes no difference

Ciao, io ho creato i files immagine da Norton Ghost (sul mio hd portatile) ma al riavvio tramite pendrive bootable(anch’esso usb com l’hd)il pc non sà che pesci pigliare e non riavvia dalla penna ma fà partire normalmente il sistema operativo su C:. quando installo il file per la chiavetta usb scelgo fat32 ma poi quando metto sotto A: e faccio partire mi da errore “There are non valid DOS system files at the specified location.” when I install the file to the stick usb choose fat32 but then when put under A: I do starting from error "There are not valid DOS system files at the specified location."
